About

MeMy name is George Donnelly and I’m a 37 y.o. dad, entrepreneur, sysadmin, objectivist, writer, Libertarian Party member, ACLU supporter and University of Chicago grad from Philadelphia who’s into history, photography, Colombia, FreeBSD, SciFi, Golden Retrievers, politics & tea.

Running FreeBSD is a practical guide to leveraging the power of FreeBSD for your mission-critical servers. I’ve been setting up, securing and troubleshooting dozens of FreeBSD servers in production since 1999. FreeBSD is a reliable Unix that makes my job easier. I’ve benefited enormously from FreeBSD and started this website not only to share my expertise, but also to develop it further. If you run FreeBSD on your server(s), or would like to, I hope you’ll join me in the Running FreeBSD discussion.
